Le TCR International Series è un campionato automobilistico fondato dall'ex direttore esecutivo del WTCC Marcello Lotti. Si classificano come una serie cadetta e propedeutica al WTCC riservata a vetture di categoria C. Il nome del campionato deriva dalla terminologia usata dalla FIA, che identifica con il termine TC1 le vetture utilizzate principalmente nel WTCC e con il termine TC2 la vetture utilizzate principalmente nell'ETCC

Accanto alla RS 3 Sedan appena presentata, l'Audi introduce a Parigi una variante da competizione di questo modello. Il reparto Audi Sport ha infatti realizzato per i clienti sportivi la RS3 LMS, che potrà partecipare nel 2017 ai campionati della categoria TCR. Sarà offerta in due varianti: la LMS con cambio sequenziale da 129.000 euro e la Club Sport da 99.000 euro: i prezzi non includono le tasse.
30 CV per il 2.0 TFSI. Gli stessi tecnici che hanno realizzato la R8 LMS, scelta da moltissimi team nei principali campionati internazionali, hanno messo a punto la RS3 LMS, allargando così considerevolmente il bacino di clientela potenziale dell'Audi Sport. Oltre a una aerodinamica profondamente evoluta seguendo la normativa Fia, la RS3 LMS differisce dal modello stradale per l'adozione del propulsore 2.0 TFSI da 330 CV: sarà capace di toccare i 100 km/h da fermo in 4,5 secondi, con una velocità massima di circa 240 km/h
